For more than 10 years we have maintained our fish plant in the Peruvian Republic and today we want to highlight the importance of its marine ecosystem which contributes to the quality of our products.
The ecosystem of the Peruvian Tropical Pacific Sea is one of the richest, because it is there where the Humboldt Current and the Tropical Pacific Current converge; this provides the right conditions for thousands of species of marine flora and fauna to find a good place to live.
In addition, it is a source of natural resources for hundreds of artisanal fishermen and industries that, like us, are dedicated to this activity and offer the whole world the possibility of tasting a quality product with an extraordinary flavor.
There is a proposal to reserve some areas of the tropical sea to contribute to conservation and sustainable fishing.
Peru has only 5 natural protected areas that conserve 6 million 643,121.62 hectares of marine ecosystems: Paracas National Reserve; the Island Systems, Islets and Guano Points National Reserve; the San Fernando National Reserve; the Ancon Reserved Zone; and the Dorsal de Nasca National Reserve.
In addition, Peru conserves around 8 % of its marine surface, which brings it closer to fulfilling its international commitments. With the conservation of marine ecosystems, we promote the development of sustainable activities for the benefit of artisanal fishermen along the Peruvian coast.
From Pescatore Seafood we support all initiatives to achieve sustainable fishing and preserve the environment.
